When my teacher noticed my lack of enthusiasm, I mustered the courage to express my longing for the classics—books like *Black Beauty* and *Huckleberry Finn*, which I had already devoured. This revelation sparked a shift in my journey; my teacher encouraged me to read these complex texts aloud, and from that moment, I abandoned baby books for good.
