During Dreyma's summer break, she is invited to join Master Bainok on a trip to his home in Tress. In the realm of the Shapeshifters, where they stay with his old friend Padok.
Their journey takes them to Ryvvik, where they meet Kuku, an apprentice who is important to their quest to help Nilat leave her wolf form.
As they uncover the sceptre's significance, Dreyma wrestles with her powers and their implications for her friends and the future.
